CDC completed site design, play area design, landscape and irrigation for the Headstart Daycare built directly adjacent to Truman Alternative High School. This new Puget Sound Educational Services District (PSESD) facility houses up to 45 preschoolers and was built upon the Reggio Emilia concept of hands-on, art-based learning.

The design includes a hand pump for water play, a tree fort, a tricycle track, a play deck, a raised stage, garden plots and a large, low-branching tree for climbing. A community garden was included in the design, adjacent to the children's play area.
