The Port of Seattle has retained CDC to integrate a new three legged overpass in the industrial SODO area. CDC's design concepts for the three plus acres of land affected by these ramps includes blending ecological principles as defined in the City’s new “Green Factor” for landscaping, Low Impact Development principles for water quality improvements, with an industrial art and artifact expression. CDC will recycle, reuse and reclaim industrial elements of the past and present businesses in the area blending the artifacts into a reclaimed landscape of hearty drought tolerant plants arrayed in a radial hub pattern evoking railroad track footprints.
