Cottage Grove Park
Through a series of design charrettes, we worked with community stakeholders and Seattle Parks Department to create a variety of community spaces within the small urban park. The park was made possible by combining an old road end (which was actually leftover from the original Olmsted Plan) with the properties acquired from seven demolished houses. Key features of the park are low-impact design elements and rain gardens that infiltrate and clean stormwater onsite. The design emphasizes simple forms, active and passive recreation, and robust detailing for ease of maintenance and to ensure long term durability.
